DIGITAL MASTER STUDIES

Whenever I am running low on ideas, my number one go to art activity is to paint a master study.  I look through the thousands of fine art jpegs I have accumulated over the years, pick one, and study the color, composition, direction of the strokes, and whatever else I can see that made so many of these old paintings so wonderful. In my mind it's the best way to learn to be a painter weather you work digitally or traditionally. Here are a few recent pieces done after some of my favorite painters.
